It is an honor to participate in the education of young children. I began working in Early Childhood Education 17 years ago after the birth of my first child and earned my Child Development Associate Degree through Ashford University. Education is something I value, therefore, I strive to attend education workshops to stay on top of trends and information in educational practices, as well as attending ACE conferences, yearly, to refresh and train in Christian Education.

I truly feel blessed to have the opportunity to work with Kindergarten and First grade students here at HCA. Every day at my job never feels like work because I know I am fulfilling the calling the Lord placed upon me. Every day in our classroom is a day for exploring and adventure. We begin our day with a group meeting where we discuss our calendar, weather, ACE phonics program, numbers & counting, and have share time, along with attending a daily devotion time. Our day stays pretty busy, we invite you to schedule a time to join our class and help for the day. I promise, you will walk away with a blessing!

This is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24

As I begin each day or new event in my life, I recall this verse. Each of us is where we are because God has a specific plan for our lives. Mrs. Mergel and I are looking forward to the school year and all the opportunities it will provide. The year will be like a roller-coaster ride, (not a scary one!); your child will have easy days and difficult days. During the easy days, they will be preparing for life's challenges, growing with encouragement and self-confidence. When a day comes that may present a struggle with, say a new Math concept, they will have the fortitude and self-confidence to conquer it.

I pray that the joy of the Lord overtakes you each day and ask that you would join us in prayer for the students, families, staff, and school. Blessings to you.

Everyday I am blessed that God has given me the opportunity to work with and influence children. Fifth and sixth grade is an important stage in a child's development. I watch as children begin to grow and mature into young adults. The Lord has led each one of us here to guide the students' lives as they begin to take responsibility and make decisions for themselves. Parents and teachers form a bond to support and encourage children in their academics, but most importantly, to lead them in God's Word.

You, as parents, entrust your child to me, and I form a bond as if each child is my own. My prayer is for my children to have the best experiences possible with all the love and support that I have to offer. I believe a classroom should be fun and enjoyable while maintaining a disciplined structure. Every child is held accountable for his or her actions. I thank you for the opportunity to be a part of your child's life.

"Remember that I shall always be interested in your child and his destiny, wherever he goes, whatever he does, whoever he becomes. His joys and sorrows I'll be happy to share." Author Unknown

The heart of my mission here at HCA is to pray for the students and encourage them to have a personal relationship with God. It is very important that they know who He (God) really is. Teaching them and showing them that God is in control, to keep His commandments, and hide His Word in their hearts. I would like to see all of these children become more Christ-like, and at a young age to surrender their lives to the Lord. My heart's desire is to make sure I do my part in introducing each child to the Lord before the school year ends.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Phillipians 4:13

I have had many challenges in my life, but to me the most rewarding one is when I am teaching a student and they say “I get it!” and a big smile comes across their face. For over 27 years I have been blessed to have the opportunity to do just that.

I started working for HCA in 2002 and have been in almost every classroom. Both of my daughters came to HCA and have now gone on to graduate from college and started their own lives.

The students become a part of my life and I know I become a part of theirs. I want to thank the parents for letting me be a small part of who they become. Integrity is taught in my classroom, along with responsibility and accountability. Referring back to Phillippians 4:13, I believe these characteristics are possible.

I am so pleased to be a part of Huntsville Christian Academy and your child's life. It is wonderful to not only see them grow academically, but also to see God working in their lives.

I am not only on the teaching staff, but I am a great-grandparent to a student in Pre-K. In the last seven years I have seen different teachers at HCA have a great influence on my great-grandchild and myself, for that I will always be grateful. Your children have the opportunity to receive a top quality education, build healthy relationships, and learn all about God’s love for them.

I work with Mrs. Tcherneshoff in the 7th and 8th grade classroom. I also take care of the Fund Raising program.

My name is Miranda Watts. I am excited to be working with the High School students in the areas of Math and Science. I have been teaching in one way or another for the past 25 years. I graduated from Samford University with an Education Degree. I taught for several years before having my own family. After my children were born, I stayed home with them for a number of years, and then I returned to teaching at HCA. It has been an enjoyable time at the school! I have taught a variety of age groups while being at HCA. I enjoy the High School students and love it when they come to know Jesus as Savior! It is such a joy to watch their growth, both spiritually and academically, as well as their maturation as young adults. I appreciate the willingness of the parents to share their children with us!

WID-WID (Why I Do-What I Do) Pastor Reggie asks us this question. I started as a parent of a student, then became a teacher. Actually, it is not that simple. I believe that God led me to this school, the circumstances surrounding the actual events could only be done by God. As a teenager, all I wanted to do was be a teacher, but I never had the opportunity. When I was offered this position, I jumped at the chance. I love these kids. I thank God every day for the opportunity to help mold these children and teach them about Him. I want them to have everything they can achieve in life. Thank you for allowing me to teach and love your child/children.

I am very honored and humbled by the opportunity to help mold and shape your children to become what God has planned for them. I have a degree in Christian Education and have been teaching at HCA since 2004. I have taught 3rd through 12th grade over the years. All three of my children graduated from HCA. Now, my grandchildren attend the school. I am amazed at the number of years that I have been given this joy. It is a pleasure to teach them not only academics, but the love of God.

High School is geared to prepare your child for college and adult life. The foundation for success is set and built upon in High School. It is our goal that they learn to apply scriptures to their lives in order for them to be successful in all areas. We hope to motivate each child to discover the plan God has for them. Our motivation is the love that God has given to each one of us. The realization of God’s love brings about a positive attitude for everyone in the classroom. The love of God is the foundation of life itself. It is an honor to share this love with each child every day.
